Biography
Jimicka Lawhorn Alexander, originally from Montgomery, Alabama was educated at Alabama State
University where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Language Arts. She attended The University
of Alabama at Birmingham and received her Master of Arts in English. She acquired her Educational
Leadership Certification and later became an Educational Specialist and received her Ed.S. in
Educational Leadership from The University of Alabama at Birmingham. She then went on to receive her
Certification in School Guidance and Counseling from The University of West Alabama. Jimicka works
full time as an educator and currently resides in Birmingham, Alabama with her husband and two children.
She is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Distant Chemistry is her first short story.
